Release Notes:
The only thing that saved it from a swift binning
was the name Jim White, and I'm glad I didn't as
it's got some gems of Americana on it.
'Blindly We Go' is worthy of an early Neil Young and
'Crash Into the Sun' a recognisable anthem, just two
of the lilting, thoughtful epiphanies that make up
the album of gothic-tinged numbers on - I don't even
want to write it again - Transnormal Skiperoo. The
numbers are all delivered with a Southern drawl that
always seems just on the verge of breaking and a
nu-folk lounge feel to the beats that draws the
listener in.
It's a gentle album of gentle reflections, stories
of Deep South life which you'll want to return to.
As long as you can get past the stupid title.
