早在1994年，Stone Sour曾经一度解散过。主音Corey Taylor后来成为了著名死亡金属乐团Slipknot的主音，并一炮而红。但是Corey没有忘记复兴属于他自己的乐队—Stone Sour。进过一番筹备，乐队于2002年推出了复出后的第一张同名专辑《Stone Sour》。《Stone Sour》的成功让人们更加了解到，Corey不仅仅可以表演出极端暴躁和疯狂的死亡金属，同时也可以诠释无奈和相对柔和的细腻感情
