80年代初北美还是GOTHIC音乐的荒漠.基本没有什么黑文化传统背景.但Rozz Williams却和Rikk Agnew在81年组建了美国第一支也是当时唯一一支纯正的GOTHIC ROCK乐队,他们用妖艳的外型,启示录式的歌词,咆哮的吉它以及B级恐怖片样(当时扮相最戏剧化的乐队!!)的现场演出赢得了一众地下乐迷的喜爱.虽然乐队初期歌曲都是早期GOTHIC音乐史中极其出色的作品.但不可否认Christian Death的大名是在他们欧洲之行后才传播到世界各地的.在乐队起程去欧洲巡演的前夕,最初成员四散而去,ROZZ不得不从Pompeii 99招募来新的成员加入,Valor(吉它/歌手)Gitane DeMone(键盘)David Glass(鼓)这一基督之死的经典阵容就这样组成了.
在欧洲他们受到了GOTH乐迷的空前欢迎,乐队以GOTHIC STAR的身份四处巡演,成功的推动了GOTHIC运动的进一步发展,其后乐队出品了几张十分成功的专辑.真正取得了GOTH界的传奇地位.但好景不长,VALOR 将ROZZ排挤出了Christian Death,自己担任乐队的核心.而ROZZ后来又组了不少GOTHIC乐队(98年在家自缢身亡).89年DeMone也离开了乐队.(到荷兰找寻自己的JAZZ情结)
失去ROZZ的Christian Death也同样失去了大众的注意,外界媒体对VALOR很排斥,认为他的才华远比不上ROZZ.(很可能是因为他是澳洲人,且ROZZ的个人魅力太大了)但我个人认为,其实VALOR带领的Christian Death同样是一支很有力量的乐队,就邪恶成度来说.比ROZZ时期要有过之而无不及.ROZZ那妖艳之气虽不复存在,但乐队整体水平却更加均衡,强烈的反宗教意识将刀尖直指向西方信仰的根基 - 基督教.
直到现在VALOR还在用Christian Death这名字在GOTHIC乐坛里执着的冲杀着.(转自网络)

Very Much an unmistakable Christian Death song, Valor sings. Great Drumming. This has the total feel of a song you want to hear played live, although a studio track, it has a live feeling to it.

A song which is in such contrast to the others, and would make a great single. Melodic, and delicate with valors vocals gently accenting the music. With a great chorus sung with equal passion by maitri, with a guitar vibe that requests you to play on maximum volume, over an over again.

Twin Vocal song about how seduction effects you, this has a great intro. And weaving bassline.

Heavy Goth guitar sound, A song sung by maitri.

This song features a scathing look at the modern post 9-11 world. Great guitar sound. Valor at his best. Video Please. The best Christian Death Song Ever. Backing singing by Maitri.

The Heaviest track of all of them.

Wake up. A slow medodic, but powerful track. Plenty of feedback. About a dream or is that a metaphor for how we are all sewn up in modern society.

Poetic and encompassing Long Outro to what is Christian Deaths Best album by a long way. Long awaited, with a lot of tracks, and even a whole album shelved for this release.
